I'm having problems with my air switching from the dash to defrost I tracked down a missing vacuum hose that I think is the problem its on the tee where the check valve is but it's not the check valve itself if any one can help it would be greatly appreciated I'll try to post a pic if I can figure out how

Wild vents. Standard with these trucks. Any vacuum leak will give you the symptoms.

2 or 4 wheel drive? If 4, does it work?

I had this problem once, and it was a vacuum line for the cruise control. It's hidden under the battery tray. Take a look there if after you find your missing vacuum it still doesn't work.

The missing hose connects to a tee that's in another vacuum line that runs right along the valley formed between the intake manifold and valve cover.

Below the throttle body on the passenger side of the manifold there's an elbow connected to a vacuum port, with the outlet turned rearward. A couple or three inches back there's a Y connector, and a few inches behind that in the run that goes straight back toward the firewall there's the T where that missing hose connects. That T is approximately in the plane of the back of the intake manifold, and probably partially obscured by another hose or two.
