1994 46rh tranny check valve location.
Hello all, it's been a while since I posted anything on here.
I was just home on leave and got to drive my truck a lot, and it had started making a clicking noise really bad on startup until you put it in gear, and I assume once the torque converter would fill up, that's when it would stop and all was good.
I'm wanting to delete/replace the transmission check valve and have looked at the DIY on how to do this, but my truck doesn't have the brass fitting where the DIY states the check valve is. Is there a different location for early year trucks?
Is there any benefit to just keeping a check valve or is there no real benefit of having it there?
I'm coming back to the states for some training and would like to drive it and not ruin the Transmission so any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I think we have seen one other truck that didn't have it, yet everything looked stock. I don't recall what year it was though. It *should* be in the line running to the bottom fitting on the Radiator, where the line transitions from steel, to rubber, back near the frame. You can pull the line there, and have a look. If there isn't a check valve there, then I would suspect that you don't have one.
Thanks for the reply, not even 10 minutes after posting this my dad told me he just ordered a whole new line. I'll ask him to save the old one and I'll cut it open to see where exactly it is. There better be a check valve on it currently, cause if not I've got other problems.
So after changing the line, there was actually no check valve in the original line(it was original as far as I know) but with the check valve there is now no clicking on start up and no delay in shifting so I'm happy with it.
