Control arm bolt stuck
So i needed to replace my upper control arm bushings. They are aftermarket so the don't look like stock and they are for the 4wd 99 dodge ram. I was originally able to cut out the old bolt after lots of cutting and drilling. Unfortunately i still have one more side to do and wondering if there is any easier way to remove the bolt other then drilling. Or if there is some type of press that can get them out because my big c clamp for bushing is to short to get around the mount and frame. Thanks for the help.
See if you can cut the bolt between the mount ear, and the control arm. (inside the mount) Cut both sides, and it should fall right out. Then you can do whatever you need to to get the old bushing out.
So i got it out without cutting or a hammer. I used a puller and inserted it in between the frame and then used that to press out the bolt. Which was pretty easy compared to cutting. I used a wire hanger to thread it to the whole since the whole to get the puller in is about 3ft from the hole. Hope this helps someone.
