There are two. It might just be hard to see. The single wire sensor is for the gauge in the dash, the two wire sensor (the one you are looking for) is for the PCM, if it isn't there, then I think you just found your problem.

Thanks. Just looked again and don't see it...is it under the compressor? It's mounted on the intake?

Yep, screws right into the front coolant passage, just to the drivers side, and rearward of the thermostat housing. May not be easy to see, but, you *should* be able to see it.

Went out and looked at mine. Yeah, it IS difficult to see... If you look down the edge of the a/c compressor, you can barely see it between the compressor, and the stat housing.

Great description, I did find it...and the plastic was broken and tilted where the wire connects. Not sure if that's the problem, but it clearly needs one now, lol. Thanks a lot for the help so far everyone. Supposed to get more snow Saturday and I wanna move it off the street so it doesn't get plowed in again.

Yeah, that's the sensor that tells the PCM what engine temp is. If it doesn't know, it 'assumes' -40 degrees, and just DUMPS gas into the engine. Unless it is close to -40 outside, the engine floods out in short order, and even if you can get it to start, it runs like crap. (pig rich)

It's -15 here right now, but thinking its -40 surely doesn't help, lol. I'll get one tomorrow and go from there...

Sure can't hurt.

Damn, that's farking COLD. We at least made it into the teens here today. (above zero.....) I think its barely in single digits at the moment though.

Temp sensor did nothing, I'm starting to think it's a jumped timing chain or maybe a blown out intake gasket...maybe both. And it's melting around here today, but it still runs the same,ms tarts but won't rev and doesn't really respond to throttle. It also suddenly making a very loud sucking noise like an intake leak, but it never did before. I'm gonna have a buddy come over and push it into the driveway with his truck just so it's out of the road.

If you leave it run long enough, does the engine warm up?

I think next step would be to check fuel pressure.

Ya, it warms up pretty quick, defrosts the glass no problem. I moved the distributor around with it running and it didn't seem to help, I'll bring a fuel pressure guage home Monday and give it a try.
