Default Need Nelp with suspension on my 98 1500 4x4

I would like to beef up the suspension in being able to carry more weight and better handeling etc.

Right now the truck has 166k miles on stock leaf springs and front coil springs.

I have upgraded the WHOLE complete front suspension except the springs as I dont know if someone put 2500 or 3500 springs in there. I was told some one put lifted springs in the front but i have no idea. I do like the higher feel so anything thta would help increase the weight performance and handling while raising it a few would BE GREAT!

I am working my way from the front 4x4 unit back in replacing all maintenance related items as NO ONE TOUCHED this truck.

Issue I noticed that I would like to maybe combat is I had 3 yards of much in the back bed and the rear springs where fully compressed and front end was up in the air, tires almost ready to blow out and steering was like a boat!!!!!

its a 98 ram 1500 5.2l, 4x4 reg cab 8ft bed. has some rust issues that I am replacing currently. Looking for a complete bed, tailgate, doors, rockers, lower cab corners, front pass fender, front lower bumper inserts to install fog lights.

The front suspension has already been replaced with moog everything.

Also just bought brand new bf-goodrichs, 245-75/ r16 all terrains T/A KO2. And shocks have been replaced to Ranchos along with the front stabilizer.

Also is there a way to install 2 front steering stabilizers...?

No need for two stabilizers in front. (hardly any need for one, I am quite sure the one that is currently on my truck only serves to hold a couple bolts in place...... and that's it.)

If you are bottom the springs, you are overloading your truck. Bear in mind, it isn't just about the suspension squat to carry heavy loads, you also need to be able to STOP when you are carrying those loads. The half-ton brakes are tiny compared to the 3/4 or 1 ton fellers...... There ARE some upgrades you can do though. Light duty 3/4 ton calipers in front, and chevy 1ton wheel cylinders in back.

Many things you can do to the rear though. Add-a-leaf, air bags, timbren 'helper' springs, etc.

I added coil springs from a 2500 in the front of my truck, really stiffened things up, ride isn't too bad. Raising my front end 3 inches.
I also did a rear add a leak in the back to raise me 2 inches in the rear and increase my weight capacity to technically 2500lbs.
1000lbs stock and 1500lbs extra from the extra leafs (they claim) I put a dump trailer up to her the other day and she use to squat with the lightest thing in the bed and with the dump trailer loaded up didn't even budge.
I just got the GM rear wheel cylinders to increase my brakeing substantially.

I'd be doing a simple additional leaf spring in the rear, will raise the height and be able to carry much more. Dunno how you got 3 yards in your truck though, I've only ever been able to carry 2 and even then it was falling off all sides......

Awesome thanks guys, Could someone point me to the exact part if not the number for the rear masters, and leafs as well as the front up graded coils.

The bucket they used stated it was a 1 yard per bucket full, I had 3 buckets, I was spreading it each dump to have it evenly dispersed and there was a 2ft crown above the sides. With the 8ft bed, 3 yards or 3 bucket fulls fit.

It's not a part number you need, head to your local suspension shop and tell them you want a helper spring in the rear, one leaf per side installed will probably be $200 or so. Not really worth it to do it yourself.
