Is it possible that something else is causing the shifting problem? It will still go faster, it just doesnt like to shift right away when I go over 40 mph. If I take my foot off of the gas for a few seconds then it will down shift. Could this be a torque converter? The fluid is clean and does not have a burnt smell to it. I still can't figure out how going over 90 mph for 10 miles was able to make it shift properly for a few days. Any ideas on this?

Okay, Thanks. I'll look into the electronics. Also, I removed the spare tire from my truck to further inspect the wires to my brake lights, and there in front of me, were the lines wedged between the frame and rear shock. I saw loads of exposed copper from different wires touching each other. I'm going to patch that up and move the lines away from the shock. When you say electronics in my transmission, which parts are you referring to that I should check?

Based off your experienced opinions, could a bad transmission control solenoid be the main problem? I can still go faster, the transmission just won't shift to the next gear, causing my rpms to continue to sore, but never the less increase in speed at a normal rate.

There are three solenoids, and a sensor in the trans. Governor pressure sensor, the pressure control solenoid, and two more to engage overdrive, and torque converter clutch. I suspect your problem is the pressure sensor. But, if you are going to go to all the trouble to replace it, do the governor pressure solenoid as well. You can get the heavy duty, borg-warner unit from seller ElectricalAdvantage on ebay, for right around a hundred bucks.

I'll be getting a diagnosis to see which one I should replace. Could any of this be the cause of my transfer case slipping into neutral when I slow down
as well?

Do you know what could be causing the transfer case to slip into neutral? Anything specific that would cause that symptom? It does it when it gets warm now, after 3 miles, and only when I let off the gas or slow down.
Thanks.

Worn shift fork, or other parts that are supposed to hold it in gear. Unfortunately, the only way to figger that one out, would be to yank the case, and tear it down.

I just logged abck in after a couple years and decided to update. The front band was worn. I bought a slip-in front band online and replaced the warn one. It shifts normally now
