Ok, that sounds like a lack of additive to me.

WHEW... The noise I'm hearing isn't a chatter but more of a what I would associate with the road and tires. Its "rar...rar....rar" and it more pronounced at low speeds and when coasting however I don't remember it being that loud before the change. However I wasn't paying attention either. BTW, "rar" is not the exact noise its making. Just the closest I could come up with on a whim.

Put in a bit more additive, and see what ya get.

Yeah, I have had the "what's that noise" thing happen after doing some work too.... My wife just usually looks at my funny, and says: "It's always been like that, what are you hearing??"

According to Geno's Garage (usually a fair source for info) you need 4oz of friction modifier added to an SAE 80W-90 gear oil that meets API GL-5 spec.

Most reading on Trac-Lok suggests if you have chatter when turning, add more friction modifier.

Alrighty, thanks. I'll add another 1/2oz to 1oz of modifier and call it good. Might go find some mud and try out the LSD.

Too much additive will Do two things.

One. Your diff Will act like a open diff.

Two. if you put WAY too much in it can oxidize the gear oil to the point where you have very little lubricating going on. That would be very bad.

I'm calling Lucas in the morning to see if the oil already had additive. If it does I might siphon the oil out and put new in.

I've ran lsd's with straight gear lube and no noises coming from it. Sounds like you have more issues than lube. Going in a straight line the lsd is all turning at the same rate and you shouldn't hear any noise from it. If anything you will hear something when turning. Sounds like a bad u joint or bearing.

My wheel bearings are probably bad.

That's the chart I used too, I just put the whole 4oz bottle in like it calls for and everything seems to working fine
