enough back pressure to run

Default enough back pressure to run

Has anyone ever fired over there truck with just the exhaust manifolds on no exhaust at all

I'm trying to check of possibly for an idling issue with my clogged catalytic converter

Mine is a 98

They run just fine with no exhaust (or exhaust manifold for that matter), just way too loud.

You will burn your valves in short order if you run no exhaust manifolds.

Just the manifolds will be fine for a little while, but, I wouldn't make a habit of driving it like that. You will go deaf.

Totally agree... wouldn't want to be driving it like that.
But the question was, will it idle (as a reference point for fault finding)... they idle fine without an exhaust.

When I got done building my Jeep I didn't have a trailer at the time so I drove my Jeep 15 miles into town to have an exhaust system installed on it. All I had on it was block hugger headers and that was it. On the highway it wasn't that bad but on the road out to the highway man was it loud. I didn't have the top on it either at the time. Not that a canvas top is going to make it quitter.

Perfect thanks guys for the input if rather be safe than sorry on the valves an not run without manifolds I'll just have to thro on some smaller tires an tow it on into town
