Default HELP.....97 dodge ram 1500 3.9l v6.....

Truck is harder than hell to start when it sits overnight, and its cold outside, it cranks and cranks and cranks spits sputters deisels and will finally hit and fire up, temp guage climbs up pretty fast for a cold morning then settles back down, once its running and warmed up it runs like a champ, i can go out 4 hours later and it will fire up fine, sits overnight in the cold same old issue, any sugestions?

X2! When you first go to try it listen to see if the pump primes the system. Turn the key to "on" then listen for a hum or a motor running sound. If you don't try it again until you do then start it.

Yes i hear the hum and the motor running sound, and it acts like its flooded cause i can smell the gas but why does it only do this when its really cold out below like 32 degrees, after i crank and crank and crank it it will eventually start and run fine once its warmed up to temp? I can start it all day long just fine only if it sits all night in the cold this happens? Was told maybe bad map sensor, coolant temp sensor, and every other sensor on this thing...

Have the same problem. Turned out to be poor connection to the coolant temp sensor. There is no slack in the wires and one pin was being pushed up and just barely making contact. Cut the plug off and added a few inches. Cranks right up. But now suffering from faulty iac... I hope. Also added spaces to the pins so they won't get pushed into the plug.
