Default hood pins

I Need to use hood pins on my truck, now I'm trying to figure out how to mount these things? I have em on my race car but it has a cowl hood which already had the holes drilled in the hood so figuring out what bolt to remove & add the hood pin to was easy.Im thinking the bump stops but those things are on an angle. If anyone has done the pins please post pictures. Thanks

You want to leave the bump stops in place.

If you really must have them...... take a look at the hood area around where the stops hit, and the radiator support where the stops are, see if you can't find a likely spot, that will be easy to measure out, and do right the first time.

What keeps the hood from rattling around then?

Make your own like I did. There are two big holes in your core support. Drill holes at the bottom of those holes and holes in the hood so you can run bolts through there. I bough 5 inch bolts, 1/2 inch diameter and secured them by running the bolts through the core support and putting a big washer and nut between core support and hood. Then u can drill holes in them to put clips in and cut the access threads off to your desired length. Mine took 30 mins and cost me under 5 bucks
