Default P0351 cel wtf?

im not getting a misfire or anything, i was just casually driving around and cel came on and i got the p0351 code. distributor cap, rotor, and cables are new as well. Recently has the plenum redone a few days ago. Also the p0441 code popped up something about incorrect purge flow. as well which intermittently comes on all the flippin time. Truck drives fine.

This article is pretty interesting and good regardnig the 0351. http://www.obd-codes.com/p0351

and the 0441

The 0351 may be an issue intermittent enough to not cause you a noticeable driveability issue. The 0441 likely wouldn't cause a symptom other than the MIL.

Do like the article says. Run the engine at idle, and start playing with the harness. It isn't that long.... see if you can induce a misfire. If you can, you found the problem.

Po441
Check the vac line going to the evap canister. A leak will throw this code.

Probably what you're looking for. It should have a single secondary wire (spark plug wire) running from it to the distributor cap.

i went ahead and checked the wiring and played with it a little while it was on and couldnt get it to misfire. Went ahead and got a replacement coil with a brass contact. Pulled the old one off and the old contact was pretty fouled out, over half it was black. So i replaced it and reset the computer and cleared the code. Hopefully this fixed it.
