Default idle issues

Ok guys, here it is. For all that has a modified or big gulp throttle body from HU-hes engines, I have read , read and reread the instructions. I even bought a new TPS and modified it to instructions, getting the correct voltage readings. My idle is still at 1000 RPM'S, 900 rpm's in drive this is a little high for me. Now with a new motor and and no miles on it except around the block 2 times, Have you run into this problem? and what did you do to fix it?

I'm pretty sure after I get it on the road and put some miles under the tires things will re-adjust but I would like to hear from others that had come across this problem.

have you ran the engine to full operating temp?

Just out of idle curiosity, (sorry 'bout the pun) is the minimum idle adjustment screw available? Basically, its just a throttle stop screw. Maybe the butterflies aren't completely closing?

Mine does the opposite, idles too low when pcm is reset, it takes a few cycles for it to learn.

Maybe you have a vacuum leak or a bad iac. The iac should make up for the throttle stop screw being off to a point...

It'll take a more or less complete OBD-II drive cycle to get the idle fully under control.

You say your idle is "still" at 1000 ? Was there a problem before the throttle body ?

Did you disconnect the battery for this ? I ask because I replaced my IAC once and had a similar issue with high idle until I reset everything by disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour . I knew better but was in a hurry .

If you did , I'd just drive it for about 50 miles and see if it is the relearning process .

you know you can adjust the idle screw right? look where the screw is and then look on the opposite side where the screw would be going in , they put a little "cap" or "plug" in the hole so you dont see the screw head, pop it out and then u can adjust the screw

Yes I have had it up to full operating temp, Had to break-in the motor, So I was running for about an hour 3 different times at 1000 then 1250,then at 1500 3 different heat cycles.

No vacuum leak all hoses and vacuum lines are brand new, front to back, plus I just installed a new IAC and readjusted the TPS again. Seems to be ok now, idles at 800 in park now and 600 in drive, now got to plug in the old scanner and find out what new codes are popping up now.
