Default trans cooler line recall question

flushed my coolant system the other day. i looked and noticed wet spot on the lower radiator hose about 2 inches where it comes from the bottom of the unit. i wiped the hose clean and today i looked at it. the fluid was minimal, but it was red...trans fluid. noticed the cooler line runs right over top the lower rad hose. so i know i need an upper trans cooler line.

so ive done some research. dodge has a recall on the "high temp" trans cooler line. i dont know which upper or lower line is the high temp side. my question is which of the two lines is the recall for? im kind of hoping to get a free trans cooler line out of this. thanks guys.

here is a link so you can see the recall details for yourself

The lower line is the input. (high temp) It has the check valve in it as well.

damn, so does the lower line have to fail in order for me to call the dealership and have it replaced?
also, i went to autozone to see how much the upper line is, like 45 bucks, i forget but part number is A61156. that is the piece i need that is leaking in my truck, however everywhere else i look i see the complete assembly, from the trans cooler to the trans. all that comes with a bigger price tag. if i was to buy that piece from autozone is that something i can install with basic hand tools? no compression fittings or any special tools? if possible id like to only replace what is leaking.

If there is an open recall, call the dealer, and see if it applies to your truck. If it does, they will perform the work, whether it has failed or not.

Might be able to just replace the o-rings in the leaking connector.......

i just give them my vin and they can tell me if it applies to my truck?
the leaking connector is where the metal line(from rad) connects to the rubber hose about 2 inches back or so. i didnt know there is a replaceable o ring in there. the metal looks like its compression fitted on there or something. if i took it apart im not sure how i would seal it back up
