Default Cruising speed

Well new battery and alternator, and no more problems after 3 years a new motor and upgrades, Now here is my question for everyone with larger tires and gears,

What RPM are you cruising doing 60 mph?

My truck has the 305's with 456 gears I know the truck spooled a little more than stock before the engine blew , but not 2000 rpm's at 60 mph.

So what tire size and gears are you running? and how many RPM's at 60 mph?

Is this just my truck doing this or is everyone else doing the same thing?

I filled the tank today got about 130 miles on the new motor, and now I am at a half of tank gas.

How many miles to a tank of gas does everyone get?

Sounds like you aren't getting overdrive.

I am at about 1600-1700 at 60, 265/75/16 tires, 3.55 gears.

You do have deeper gears, and maybe your speedometer isn't accurate because of the larger tires.

This. I note you have a 95.... I suspect your speedometer is lying to you.

There are various calculators available online.... but, most want info I don't happen to have.... If you can find someplace where they have one of the neat speed radar signs...... drive past it a couple times, and see just how far off your speedo is.

I know the speedo is off by a bunch, I have taken my GPS and my cell phone I have the app for speedo also. Both cell phone and gps are spot on at 60 mph 2000 rpms the speedo is reading 75 mph. I know with the taller gears I was going to spool a little more but 2000 rpm's is a lot.
I had the gears before the motor blew, but can't remember if the motor spooled that high before. HeyYou if you have 3:88 gears on stocks size tires and spinning 1500 to 1600 in over drive , then mine would be about rite with the 4:56 gears. Just wanted to get an idea if on what others are running at 60 mph on larger tires, I was hoping someone might have 315's on there truck with 4:56 gears and see what the are spinning on the rpm's. Or with the 289/298 which ever with the same gears

It's going to drink gas anyway.

I have 3.55 gears.

Right now, I am getting a whopping 11 MPG with my mostly rural driving...... Yeah, that sucks.

Very close to where you should be.

with 4.56...245/75R16 = 2256rpm @ 65mph no O/D..3270rpm
...............265/75R16 = 2172rpm @ 65mph.............3148rpm
...............285/75R16 = 2094rpm @ 65mph.............3021rpm
...............315/75R16 = 1987rpm @ 65mph.............2879rpm
