I had an "offroad" 2g Ram next to me today. It appears to be a few inches taller than mine. What was the difference from the factory....body lift, springs, blocks, ....anyone know?

i think they came with a 2-3" block and coil spacers stock, but i am not sure. thats the reason i thought mine mihgt had been a offroad or sport package but i came to find out its neither, so the person who had the truck before must had put the 3" blocks and spacer in there.

The coils do not have spacers on an offroad, they are just larger. There are blocks in the rear adding lift there as well. There are other differences like a larger alternator, bigger battery, 4.10 gears, things like that.

I foud this:

The Ram Off-Road 4x4 packages a recalibrated suspension and LT275/70R17 all-terrain tires mounted to 17-by-8-inch cast aluminum wheels, a unique steering gear for low-speed agility, and a limited-slip differential; the package includes an upsized battery and alternator, auxiliary transmission oil cooler, a larger radiator, front tow hooks, skid plates, fog lamps, heavy-duty service equipment and unique Off-Road decals. This package is available in regular cab and Quad Cab 1500 short-bed four-wheel-drive models.

I thought that the off-road was posi-trac in both front and rear axles?

Posi is just a propriatary name for limited slip. There is only limited slip in the rear of the offroad, at least in mine.

only in the rear of mine as well, and that only part of the time....

great idea with the tow hooks, but they're tucked up so close to the bumper cover I think I'd be afraid to ever hook anything to them.

Or you could get a dodge from canada and get a mix of the 2. I have the limited slip and the blocks but not the 4.10 or the tow hooks. When I make an order I never know what block to fill out cause I got a mix here.

just my 2 cents
