2001 360ci bogging down!

Default 2001 360ci bogging down!

i have a 2001 ram that is bogging down upon acceleration and doesn't wanna rev over 4k rpms in neutral. spark advance is a 45 deg.. can some one help me

Plugged cat con, remove the front 02 sensor from the exhaust pipe run it up and see what you get.

wouldn't that throw some sort of code though.. the only sign im getting is a slight misfire below 2600 rpms

Maybe, maybe not. This is a very common problem and your symptoms match it. As stated, try removing the front O2 sensor and running it up. See if it changes. Thats a simple test.

hey after it idled a minute it ran down the road perfect! would you recommend just taking the cat off and straight piping it

No, I would recommend fixing the plenum, replacing the O2 sensor, doing a tune-up, and if you are feeling really ambitious, replace timing chain and gears/water pump while you have the intake off. (it's only like 8 more bolts.... and 25 bucks worth of gaskets.)

No I would not recommend that. It is illegal even though a lot of people do it. Do you have emissions inspections? It would never pass if so. You better off fixing it correctly as stated.

I'd go with the Magnaflow Catalytic Converter. It replaced your entire Y-Pipe, which is very restrictive. Keeps you legal and makes that part of your exhaust flow a little easier.
