2500 V10 Exhaust
I bought a Magnaflow Stainless Kit that was supposed to fit on my 01 2500 V10. However, it does not fit because the kit has a 1 inlet, 1 outlet muffler. Was told by a shop that they wouldn't recommend installing the muffler due to restriction from the single inlet.
I am trying to find an alternative to the Magnaflow kit. The V10 has 2 pipes with 2 converters at the back of the quad cab. I found a flowmaster 70 # 524703 - Series Delta Flow™ Big Block Muffler, Dual 2.25" inlet with a single 3" outlet. I could then use the remaining stainless tail pipe from the Magnaflow kit.
Will this work? Any other suggestions?

I am pretty sure that the exhaust is stock.
I spoke to Magnaflow after the shop said they didn't recommend installing the single inlet muffler. They also agreed that I could cause too much restriction.
I now need an alternative to the kit I already have.

My V10 still has the stock system on it, there is a chrysler pentagram embossed on the muffler. It has 2 down pipes into 2 cats then y into a single muffler with a 3" exhaust. Looking around the internets there appears to be 2 types of exhaust on the V10's. The first is like mine and the second has 2 down pipes into a single cat back to a single muffler then out the 3" tail pipe. I'm not sure what the difference is, maybe 49 state and Cali emissions?
That Magnaflow muffler should flow plenty for the V10, not sure why the shop said it wouldn't.

Check the emissions label under the hood (if its still there), that should tell you whether you have Federal, or California emissions.
