Go with a 3" body lift, and the 7" suspension lift. Do it once, do it right, don't worry about it again. Body lifts really aren't that bad to install.

Sounds good. I work in heating and air conditioning so I am mechanically inclined. I installed the rough country lift myself which was a pain without a lift but I made it happen. I just wanted to make sure I would be able to do the body lift myself as well. Thank you though, this is stuff I would be way too lost without the help lol

I don't know about 'by yourself'..... Having a spare body or two drifting about to help with the heavy lifting is sometimes necessary.

Well yeah lol I meant not having to take it to the mechanic. A case of beer and a buddy to help out and that makes for an alright job (hopefully!)

but thank you, I take pride in the truck and love it. People always say "its a 2001 dude, you should sell it for something newer" I cant help but laugh when I hear that. I've got a good bit of money in this truck and wouldn't trade it for the world!

I've tried RF as well but didnt get much help there. Im not a mechanic as im sure you can tell, so what I would like to do, and what I physically can do apparently are two different things! I would like to be able to run the 38-40's on my 1/2 ton axles but that just isnt possible without upgrading my gears or doing a whole axle swap which is costly
