Default Truck wont heat up

Title says it all. Warm heat. But not hot like I know it should be. Torque says the engine runs at around 180.

I have a 195 stat though. Tested it twice before installing. No Gurgling when starting Heard from inside the cab.
bad fan clutch? Could a locked fan really keep my engine from heating up?

There is coolant cycling though. Bad temp gauge? But the heat is obviously not the same as I know it should be.

Check inlet/outlet temps on the heater hoses. (clogged core?)

Try bleeding the air out of the core. (just burping the cooling system has proven inadequate to the task in my experience.)

Temp door doing it's job? You have the coupler/motor system that is notorious for failure.

I dontt have a temp gun or anything. But it is cycling through the heater core.

I don't think the temp door is acting up.

These are cold beasts. There's so much air getting to the engine it takes forever to warm mine up. But when it does, the heat is hell level. Yes, the fan could be running too much, or just the t-stat wants to open too soon, or the core is getting clogged, or the blend door is acting up. You'll have to start digging...

Well I tested the stat twice before installing it. It opens at 192ish then closes at 195 or something similiar to that.

Guess I'll try one last air bleeding. Fan seems to be roaring all the time though. I know it should at cold start up, but what about after its been running a while? Shouldn't it free wheel some??

Also, my overflow tank/system has never worked to my knowledge.

If you can hear the fan roaring all the time, then it sounds like the fan is stuck on all the time and over cooling, and that's not good. A replacement fan clutch is $40.-$50. dollars. If yours is original with lots of miles on it, it might be time to replace it.

Try renting a laser heat sensor gun (Advance Auto, Autozone) to determine what the inlet and outlet temperatures are at the heater core at the firewall. Harbor Freight sells them pretty cheap, too. If you were closer, you could stop by and use mine.
