Default 5 speed manual trans

ok i have a 2000 ram 2500 4x4 360 manual 5 speed.today i was driving home from work. i came to a stop and went to go into 2nd gear to take off. the truck wont go into gear. if i turn the truck off it will go into gear like normal. start the truck and it makes a noise i never heard and pushing in the clutch pedal does,nt seem to release clutch truck wants to move with pedal pushed to floor. any suggestions? thanks for any help to figure this out.

Check the hydraulics first. How's pedal effort? Does it feel normal? Or is there very little/no resistance when you step on it?

pedal feels normal and the fluid in resevoir is at normal level

Yup. Sounds like a throwout bearing. Make sure you get a good one. Put a new clutch in mine and it came with one partially made out of a hardened plastic (didn't take notice at the time) snapped off within a few thousand miles...

thanks guys brodster151 clutch was just replaced not to long ago. this gonna suk spending at least a few hundred to replace a 50 dollar part. to old to be laying on the gravel drive lol. this gonna cut into racing cash BOOOO!

Could take the slave off and see if you can see anything. Maybe the clutch fork fell off the pivot ball. Still have to take everything apart though. Which sucks.
