Default Suspension

Hello,

I inherited a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4-wheel drive 5.9l 4 door pick up. The front end is almost completely shot. As I am in the middle of rebuilding it, I noticed that there is a shim or a spacer in between the wheel bearing assembly and the spindle. It is triangle in shape with 3 holes for the bolts and a big hole in the middle for the axle. There is also the brake dust cover present too. None of my local auto parts store have any record of this shim/spacer.

Does anyone have a part number or any resources they can share so I can obtain this part?

Thanks!

Heath

Can you post a pic? Are you talking about the dust cover for the axle Stub shaft?

I don't think the shim is critical. I don't see it in any of the parts books either...... if it isn't re-usable, just skip it.

Of course, someone else may have replaced the dust shields at some point.... and that is what's left of the old one.

Default dust covers question

Are the brake dust covers necessary? Can I just leave them off?
