Default spongy brakes

I bought a 97 ram 2500 4/4 for cheap. I had good brake peddle it just pulled to the right bad. I replaced the calibers had the rotors turned new brakes. I have bleed the brakes several times and I still have a spongy brake. I have done a lot of brakes so i know there bleed right. I have adjusted the back brakes up. I see no leaks. when i pinch of the rubber hoses to front calibers i get good brake peddle. So my thinking it has to be calibers. Is there something I'm missing I'm lost any advise would be helpful. One more thing is i have good peddle with the truck not running.

Bleeders are up on top, right? (highest point on the caliper.)

Probably just still have a bit of air in there. Have a friend help you bleed. Pump up the brake pedal, hold the pressure, then crack open the bleeder. (yes, it shoots fluid, be careful.) That should shock any air loose.

May want to have a look at the brake line going to the rear as well. It is notorious for rusting out, and breaking, above the gas tank......

The calibers are right. I have bleed them several times that way. I bleed them using one of them mighty vac. I have checked for leaks in the back to. Two new wheel cylinder and brake line in the back.

Mighty Vac just uses vacuum to pull the fluid thru the lines. It isn't any more affective than having someone pump the brakes. Occasionally, air can be REALLY stubborn.....

If your brake bleeders are on top you will NEVER get all the air out. Take the wheel cylinders off and swap left to right and vice-versa. That puts the bleeders on the bottom of the unit and you can bleed them fine.

Um, No. Air doesn't travel down thru a fluid. The bleeders MUST be on top.

Conversely, a person could learn a lot more by not paying attention. It wouldn't be nearly as pleasant, but it could be done.
