Any ideas what this noise is, it's coming from the pan.
I didn't do that right. Will try again. Loud clicking sound coming from thee pan area. Took back to the rebuilder , but got the run around that they couldn't hear it and couldn't tell anything from video. Youtube search . dodge transmission noise if you know how to help me make it live on DF.

Thanks for fixing that for me. I had the owner of the shop listen to the same video and I brought it back , wasted another day. The noise isn't constant and he couldn't hear it. He also can't slide under the truck on a whim to listen either. Sometimes you can hear it from 10 feet away, other times only under the truck and not at all when it's hot.. It's usually most snapply after been driven to operating temperature, then let it sit 30-45 minutes and restart.
The shop has a good reputation, but they sure don't want to pull that pan again or the front cover. Was hoping somebody might have a clue what the noise could be. I have used a stethoscope to listen all around the pan gasket area and it's obviously coming from inside the trans. Thanks again.

Yes it shifts good and works right. It doesn't seem to have as much grab from a dead stop, shifts are in 2200 to 2400 range normal driving, which seems a few hundred higher than before, but I can live with that. I never use to be able to get to 2500 rpm brake torquing, I can now. They did fix the leaking neutral safety switch.

Probably a slightly higher stall converter than stock. Wonder if the converter is rubbing something? Or, does it sound more like it is coming from inside the trans?
I would be real tempted to drop the pan, and see if there is anything rude in there...... but... since you had a shop do the work, I would ask them to do it..... if I had to hazard a guess, I would expect you will find metal shavings in the pan......

More like from the trans, using a stethoscope it was loudest an inch above and below pan gasket. No noise was coming from the converter. Kind of sounds like bb's or something metal swirling about in the pan. The noise is most audible at 30 to 45 seconds in video.
They seem to have an real aversion to pulling the pan and have a look see. That would cost time. Got a 2 year/30,000 mile warranty, but would like piece of mind.
