Default Another transmission problem, 46re

2000 Dodge Ram 5.9 Ok so i rebuilt my transmission and low and behold i get the P0783 code. I went ahead and replaced both sensors and about fifty miles latter the code returned. Thinking maybe the sensors were bad i took them back to the shop and got two new ones. I replaced the sensors and the code returned. Any ideas on what to check. I rebuilt my transmission with a certified mechanic so i don't believe the trans was built improperly. Thanks for any help with this.

Rich

P0783 3-4 Shift Sol, No RPM Drop at Lockup

Verify you are getting 12 volts at the PCM (connector 2, cavity 21, brown wire.).

Was your problem solved? I just got my '98 5.2L 46re back from the shop - rebuilt but OD seems to be acting strange - almost freewheeling during coast (1,000rpm), then lightly "slamming" back into gear on acceleration. Also seems to rev higher at 60 mph than before the rebuild... about 2,400rpm. Threw a code today, but haven't checked it.

If you are at 2400 RPM at 60mph, you aren't getting O/D.

Thanks, HeyYou. I kinda thought so. When I hit the switch under load (at 60 mph), the RPM's only increase by about 100-200 - before the rebuild, it would immediately jump by about 600-650! Bring it back, I guess...

Did you change the TC when you rebuilt the trans?

Yep - Brand new TC. Checked my code - P0340 - Camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. If I clear the code, supposedly the OD will go into lockup. True? Now I need to track down the circuit malfunction. I have been ignoring it - maybe that is a bad idea!?!
