Food for thought. My 01 1500 5.2 auto never popped as much as this one does and it had nothing more then pacesetter shorties and virgin cat. So that's why I am lost for words with this one. Oh and it also had original motor with plenum upgrade and normal tune up protocol. 176k

I am guessing bad injectors or cam position sensor if you have the fuel pressure.

the popcorn (or lean pops) should be loud going down a hill PAST 60MPH with your foot off the gas. Under 60MPH you will not get those pops.

Been through 3 distributor pickups. Same issue with all 3. Popping happens at any speed. 5 mph for crying out loud. Lol

Fuel sync has been addressed. Unplugged front 02 like you suggested. No difference in the way it runs. Been driven about 50 miles since last night when I unplugged it. I'm lost brothers.

Fuel pressure makes its way to 30 when you turn the key on. Jumps to 50 when you start it. Stays there at idle. Never goosed the throttle.

Compression I'm not sure on. Wasn't something in mind to check with only 54k on the motor.
