PCM will engage ASD relay for a few seconds at initial key on, after that, if it doesn't see the engine turning, (crank sensor.....) it won't turn it back on. So, yes, I suspect your crank sensor is bad, or, for whatever reason, the PCM isn't seeing a signal from it.

So I replaced the crank sensor and now I have a new problem. It will fire off of starter fluid but it won run. The fuel pump is running when I turn the key on and I hear it running after I am done cranking the engine. I just replaced the entire fuel pump assembly so that is all new. Any ideas of what I should start looking at? I am guessing that I am not getting fuel now.

Try giving it some gas when cranking.

Like pumping the throttle? Already did that. Nothing.

Hold the throttle open just bit while cranking.

Okay I tried that and I got a little sputter every now and then but not all the time and only when I start to crank the engine. Still will fire quickly off the starter fluid.

I would put fuel pressure gauge on it and see what kind of pressure you have. It will fire on the starting fluid so it's not an ignition problem.

So I'm here working on the truck. Fuel pressure is 40psi before cranking engine. Try to start engine and the pressure drops to 0. Sputters but won't stay running. I still here the pump running after the engine dies or I stop cranking. Pressure rises back to 40. Please help quickly I would like to keep working on it.

Think it's time for a new pump, if pressure drops off while cranking.

Pump is new. Why would it produce pressure if it was bad?
