Duly noted and updated. I will post a new thread asking about the scanner.

I know I should get it set with a scan tool but it runs good enough for now until I can either find someone with the tool that I can borrow or set it for me. I really do not want to pay the dealer to do this.
How exactly did you do it with the DVOM? I have one handy and have the AllData procedure for setting up the fuel sync that way, but just a lil advice couldnt hurt ya no.

It was actually very easy. Balancer at TDC then 17 degrees to the V8 mark.
Loosen distributor just enough that you can turn it with some effort.

Red wire from meter to the tan/yellow wire for the distributor pickup and black wire to negative on battery.

Key on and then turn distributor to find 5 volts. Took me a couple of tries to get it. Then tighten down distributor.

You want to position the distributor to RIGHT where the voltage switches on.

From TDC if you rotate the crankshaft 17 degrees you will end up at the v8 mark on the balancer and this is where you need to be in order to do the adjustment.
