Default Trans cooler fittiment issue

I need a new trans cooler, mine got a leak, used a small aftermarket it wasn't much help.Had someone grab this off of a ram@ a wrecker yard.I have no idea if it came off of a gas or a diesel? But it seems to not want to fit where it is supposed to go. so I'm wondering if I can just cut off some of the line & just put rubber hose over it with clamps so basically the quick disconnect wherever that attaches to it's running out to where we had aftermarket cooler hooked up. I want to say that those qd lines were already on there with the hose cut off &clamps but can't think back that far.Since the metal lines do not fit where they should I figure just cut them shorter clean it up use the existing rubber line they go to the QD and use hose clamps. Will that be good enough?Right now I have the trans cooler bypassed& it's OK for short runs but if I have to go on a little bit of a run it will cause a leak. I had this problem b4 until I installed the small cooler. I haven't been driving the truck because I don't want to hurt the trans.Heres some pictures obviously I still need a new bumper. The other picture with the cooler mounted appears to be just like mine found it on a 2nd gen pic

Should be able to use the rubber line and clamps without a problem.

Wonder why it doesn't wanna fit though..... looks like a stock piece.

Are you using the cooler in the radiator with it or just the cooler itself? I have an auxilley cooler and mine is behind the ac condenser(96 2500 gas). Not sure what they did on the diesels.
