how do you remove 4x4 shifter knob?

Default how do you remove 4x4 shifter ****?
so i couldnt find any info on this. how do you remove the **** on the 4x4 shifter? thanks in Advance

is there a jam nut under the ****? If so, loosen that up, and the **** should thread right off. If there isn't, the **** should still thread right off.

thats what i thought but maybe mine is just putting up a good fight. haha ive busted my butt trying to get that thing off. ill have to check again if there is a nut under the ****. dont remember seeing one. haha.

Yeah there's a nut in the ****. You have to pop off the cover that shows the shift pattern.

yup i cant believe it was that easy and i couldnt figure it out. i failed so much on this one hahahahaha.

See Snowboundrmk's reply above. Once you get the 4x4 cover off with a small screwdriver, the nut is plainly visible and easy to remove.
