pcm = Power control module "brain". It will throw a code if the temp doesn't stay above a certain temp.

That where mine has always sits with 195 stock stat. Only time it ran up at the 210 mark was when the coolant was so old from neglect and needed a new thermostat.

Thanks for all your replies, I am just reaching the 210,000 mile mark, and I hope to keep her going for a lot longer, I stayed with the 195 thermostat since that was Oem, during my research, many people suggested that if I went with a lower temp thermostat, that it wouldn’t run right, since it was built to work at a certain operating temp., the pcm works around a specific temp., and so I figured not to change from the 195. My dash temp gauge doesn’t have numbers on it, just 4 line marks between C and H, that’s why I plugged in the scan gauge to try and get a more accurate temp reading. After reading all your posts. I feel a lot better, about where my temp is currently sitting.I think I’ll keep an eye on it for the next couple of weeks, my worst fear is of overheating and doing some damage that way, head gaskets etc..., I just want to say thanks again for all your replies, I learn so much from all you guys and am constantly learning something new,,,,,,,take care,,,,
