Default Height Sensing Valve

Can I eliminate the height sensing valve on the rear braking system of a 2001 Ram 2500. Mine is all rusted and I am replacing all the brake lines / components. I have found the valve but it is 400 bucks. Do I need it? What effect will it have on the brakes if I do not have it?

Skip it. Even dodge stopped using them, and recommended bypassing them when doing new lines on the rear. (yes, lines rusting out is a common problem. especially right above the gas tank.)

If your abs is working properly, you may notice it engage more on limited-traction surfaces. (gravel, snow/ice, etc.) But, aside from that, no difference.
