tcc lock bypass
I'm curious if there is a different way to bypass to leave the relay working and have a switch work as lock/unlock/relay. I have not looked yet but was curious if anyone else has done this. And opinions towards locking the tcc manually

PCM controls TCC lockup by grounding a circuit. The trans relay simply supplies power for both TCC, and O/D solenoids. If you want to be able to manually lock your t/c, simply wire in a switch to the ground side of the circuit. Flip the switch, TCC locks. You will be overriding the PCM control though, so, if you try and stop with TCC locked, you will stall the motor. (just like you would in a manual trans car, without pushing in the clutch.)

If you want to disable TCC, wire the switch inline with the ground circuit. Flip the switch to "off", and the PCM will be unable to lock TCC. Of course, that will annoy the PCM, and it will set a code.

My question becomes, why do you want to?

I was reading that you can gain mileage by locking at cruising speeds and the truck doesn't see much over 50 usually so I figured if I can lock around 40 might help. I don't really want to disable. Just throw in a bypass. And I understand you have to flip back to prevent stall and tcc burnout. Unless it's not that worth it.

It should lock at 45 mph in any event.

I think that the hassle involved, and potential damage that may result, far outweigh any possible benefits you might see.
