If any of you have been here more than a few years, you'd know I have fought ping since I bought it in 01, as most of Ram owners did. Hence the deathflash and every other "cure" invented. It was Dodge's fault. EVERY truck will ping under the right conditions. That's just a fact. Heyyou is right. Wouldn't be a problem if Dodge had the know-how that GM had back in the 80s to include knock sensors. I'm too tired of fighting it to care anymore. If someone makes a tune that won't make it ping, I'll consider it. But if I spend one more dollar on something and I hear one single ping, I'm driving it into the corporate offices in Detroit.

SCT will overwrite whatever tune you have on there. If it pings, its your truck and not the tuning. The tuning will consist of 87 through 94 octane tunes. If it takes 93 octane to run on my 87 tune then again, its your engine and its full of carbon buildup and other issues. I would fix your truck if you think you will have pinging issues.
