Default Chip for 2001 dodge ram 1500 5.2l

I recently bought a 2001 dodge 1500 5.2l truck. The previous owner had a Gforce performance chip on it and I feel like it is doing absolutely nothing to increase fuel economy or power.
What is a good chip to get to help with the fuel economy and power? Thanks

Chips are garbage. You need to tune the PCM via SCT, superchips, etc.

I love Sun chips. But am partial to BBQ oven baked lays also. In fact I like all the oven baked varieties.

Of course, there is always cheetos.

Cheese flavored styrofoam? Really? Hhhmmmm.....

Like JKeaton said. SCT is going to be your best bet, not one of the 'chips' does a damn thing.

I've heard all they do is feed a lower temp reading to the pcm to give the engine a richer mixture.

That's exactly what the do. Search the forum for "power wire". It's a resister. You can make your own for about 25 cents. I made one for my Dakota. Did absolutely nothing.

Order one from Hemifevertuning.com. Then its just plug it in, and follow the prompts. takes about ten minutes.

Don't go through HemiFever. Sean doesn't give a damn about us 2nd genners and has fried way too many PCMs. You want to go through Airram.com, their sct + canned tune is $435 and done by FlyinRyan who has fixed nearly 200 trucks that have been messed up because of HemiFever. He even designed the canned tune.

Superchips is junk unless you can find one for $100 or less, Hypertech is junk even free, Edge is pretty good but for the price of new, might as well go with SCT which can get custom tunes.
