I got my EQ heads from odessa cylinder head, they matched the valve springs based on my cam specs, giving me different pressures for intake and exhaust.
I believe Hughes is the only place you can get them with the larger valves. I was looking them up not to long ago because a guy on craigs list had them for a grand brand new with springs.

Just FYI, the EQ Monster Magnum heads w 2.02 intake valves are on Ebay for $1300 from Odessa. But as said check with your cam people to see which heads they think would work best.

Of course Hughes is going to say "our heads are better"...... Considering theirs more than likely come from the same foundry as everyone elses...... its what ELSE they do to them that makes the difference. How much of a difference? Well, that's a good question, and so far as I know, we don't have any data on which ones perform better.

Yea i'm gonna shoot an email to the guys at Hughes and see what they have to say about the non-adjustable rocker arms and valve spring selection. I know its been done before but not sure what lift it can be done with....if I do have to use the adjustable ones, I'll have to do a little more reading on what is required to properly install those. If i'm reading the posts here correctly, there are no adjustable rockers that are a direct fit onto the factory style heads? (Installing any adjustable rocker arm requires modifications to the heads?)

The adjustables simply bolt on, just need to buy the 5/16th to 3/8ths rocker studs and guide plates. They bolt into the same location as the pedestal type rockers. Don't need to modify the heads in any way.

I'd get stock size valve heads off eBay. I think mine where $880 delivered and setup for my cam. I want to say they also came with stainless valves but I'm not for sure. I'm also running non adjustable rockers and non hardened pushrods with no problems. And I wouldn't get too carried away with the cam and you can get a comp cam for as much as that Hughes one.

I just spent a little time looking at the comp cams stuff and I actually like their camshaft specs better than the ones at hughes....I'd go with the 20-602-9 since I have the 360...I'm gonna email them and see what they recommend as far as rocker arms go. It's got a little over .500" of lift on the exhaust side but maybe I could get away with non adjustable rockers if I was careful to check the preload. Did you get the EQ heads off of ebay and then have that company put in matching springs for your cam?

With the pedastal style we have stock it's just bolt it to spec. You can really check or adjust anything.

Yeah i know that, but wouldn't I still need to check the lifter preload to ensure that my engine runs right? I believe pushrod length also affects preload - since the rockers would be non adjustable, the only way to change preload is to change pushrod length
