Truck feels like it slips when first driving but drives fine once driven for a little

Yep, governor pressure sensor, and heavy duty borg warner solenoid. The BW unit also has the advantage of being self-cleaning, which the stock one, is not..... (whose brilliant idea was that?)

So, get the sensor/solenoid set, filter and gasket, 3/8ths drive torque wrench, and do the fluid/filter change, and band adjustment, while you are in there changing the electronics. Fairly quick and painless job, and not terribly expensive...... but, still, I would be saving my pennies for the rebuild.

Install a drain plug into the transmission pan. You can find them for less then 15 bucks. Its well worth it if you need to dive back in.

Would it be horrible to wait a little and just drive it once it warms up? Thanks for all of you guys replies, they are greatly appreciated.

Nope. Cheaper too.

Bear in mind though, it's only gonna get worse.
