Default Larger Wheels.

Hey guys! Been a while since i posted anything.

I bought this truck 4 years ago and have finally saved enough funds to customize it fix up the body etc. I am putting new rims and tires on my 1997 Dodge 4x4 2500 V8 360. Right now i am running on 16 inch wheels with a 285/75/16 tires. The truck itslef has a 3 inch if not a 4 inch lift on it. I am trying to go up to a 17 inch custom wheels but with a 285/70/17 mud tire to prevent having to lift the vehicle any higher. Dont get me wrong i like lifted trucks but i use this truck for off road on my weekends off and dont want it to high as to not make a flipping hazard.

Would i be able to get away with 17 inch custom rims and a 285/70/17 tire without lifting it by any chance? The only thing im worried about is the wheels tires rubbing on the front when i turn tight.

If pictures and info is needed on the brand of wheels and tires i am hoping to put on it i can include them in my next response. Thanks guys!

Should fit fine. You might get some rub on hard turns. (at steering lock) Stick with 4.5 to 4 inches of backspacing.
