help me straighten my axle

Default help me straighten my axle

Im trying to figure out the best way to get my rear axle straightened out.You might of read me post about this b4.But when I had my accident the driverside rear axle went towards the rear of the bed.The blocks went forward.&rear U bolt got broke...causing it to bull away from the od unit breaking off@the t case & the ear om the motor mount bending. I need help on best course of action to take on fixing the axle.The rest I think I have.

Support that side of the truck on a jack, to the frame. Jack it up to take the weight off the spring. (just enough to lift the tire a quarter inch off the ground.Take off the existing u-bolts. Reposition everything so it is where it needs to be. Lower the truck just enough so there is a wee bit o' weight on the spring. Install new u-bolts. Tighten em up, remove the jack, check 'em again.

Get the correct measurements off your old ones than call around to local parts houses. Fastenal or anyone who deals in hardware can get them.

Does the bolt thats ontop of that piece of plate do anything?There's like a knot on it and I didn't know if I should just take will do it or for runs through all of those pieces?

yeah, that's a bolt that runs thru the spring, and holds things in place. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

So basically...I jack the truck up from the leaf springs &pull the axle back to where it belongs?

Don't jack up on the spring, jack the truck up by the frame. Otherwise, yep.
