I picked one up at a local dealer for about $48 including tax. Have yet to install it, probably another week until I get to it.

I also ordered front and rear kits (OEM) from finelines. Had to ship my rear originals back, they didn't have dana60 HD patterns and what they thought would work and shipped initially was way off. They copied the pattern from my old right one (and a custom bend from me on the left side) and sent me replacements.

I got OEM materials, I figured the truck is 15 years old and its not going to outlast the factory OEM materials - why pay extra for stainless?

I believe it was fine lines that i heard of the full ss kits from(been a while), As noted you may have to see if your truck configuration is available.

That would fail our state inspections here... good luck.

No. It's NOT "OK". Compression fittings are NOT designed to deal with the pressures that brake systems develop. Not even close. In most states, using them on brake lines is ILLEGAL. That is woefully unsafe, and you really shouldn't drive it like that. Pick up a flaring tool, and some fittings, and fix it right. Do not endanger yourself, and anyone else on the road with you like that. It's just a BAD idea.

X2 Couldn't have said it better myself! Get a flaring tool and do it right! You can get one for $22 at Harbor Freight.

Patrice a few times till you get the hang of it before you do the line on the truck. It's not that difficult to do.

They make copper nickel line that is easy to bend as well. Doesn't rust, and is pretty easy to work with. I'd rather just bolt on prepared lines though. I bought everything minus the long front to rear line for $115 shipped. They even swapped out connectors because I was using a different rear brake hose (metric). That includes every hardline from master cyl thru the abs, to the wheels.

They now have a 10% labor day sale going on.

I called, because of the custom metric nuts I wanted. I think the shipping price was better when I called than online.
