Default Having Idle problem on 1998 Dodge Ram

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 engine. When I go to a stoplight or just leave it at idle it starts to choke and gurgle. When I start off it coughs and pops. little to no power. If I put in Neutral and rev it up high then I can go. If left at idle when it does this it will choke out and shut off. It does not do it all the time. Some day's all the time and others not often. It seems like it does it more in the summer than winter. What could be the problem? No engine codes

Done your plenum yet? When's the last time you had a tuneup? Cleaned the throttle body?

Is it missing at idle? If you just step lightly on the gas, will it continue to run smooth?

Yes, or if I stomp down on the gas and rev it will run fine for a while

Think I would still consider pulling the throttle body, and having a look at the IAC well.....

If that's ok, might consider just replacing the IAC..... trouble is, the inexpensive aftermarket fellers don't always work as well as they should, and dodge is rather proud of them..... and prices them accordingly. (kinda pricey as a "might fix it" option.....)

That is kind of what I was guessing. I saw a video about cleaning it but I think I will just get a new one! Thanks!
