Default k&n intake and throttle body spacer

I have a 94 ram 1500 5.9L auto and I just ordered my k&n intake for it. And I just realize the previous owner put a throttle body spacer on. And I'm worried if my new intake is going to fit. Anyone else have this combo and it fits? I would hate to have to send it back. I've been waiting to order it forever

Take the spacer off and use it for a doorstop or paperweight. It does absolutely nothing.

And you won't get the CAI air hat on with the spacer... it will make the TB too high.

Well I got my intake and sure enough it doesn't fit. My next option is to remove the tb spacer. Which I don't have stock bolts for. And use the Cold air intake. Or return the cold air intake and buy a drop in k&n filter and be happy. Or a 14x3 filter. The stock airbox doesn't look too restrictive. The spacer helps more low end and the CAI helps more high end. I'd rather have low end for hauling. Can I heat the plastic hat up and squash it down alittle flatter?

On TBI or carbureted engine, this is true. On a port injected engine, spacers do nothing. But, your truck, your money. Do what makes you happy.

The spacer was on there from the previous owner. I don't have stock bolts to change it. I'm gonna just heat up the hat with a torch and bend down the parts that are hitting. There's only a couple small spots. And it's molded plastic so it shouldn't be too hard. Is this a bad idea?

Yank the spacer. It does absolutely nothing on modern fuel rail systems. Think about it, how can it?

Possibly. Gonna push it down enough to reduce flow? That kinda defeats the whole idea.

Take one of the longer bolts to any hardware store. You should be able to get correct length for a couple bucks for all four. gasket is 2 bucks.

This!

Most recommendations are to change the bolts anyway. So why not spend the $2, remove the spacer, and be done.

The only purpose ive seen for a spacer is to relocate the IAT if you have a Hughes F1 air gap
