Default 2000 Ram 5.2 1500 Front Axel Lubrication ?

Hello,
I have a low mileage 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 Extended Cab. I was told by a friend that I should occasionally put it into 4 wheel drive and drive it to get the lube to places that it will drain off of from sitting for long periods of time. I tried to find an official sight stating these as facts but to no avail. Your input or a link to this data will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
Supradude

It's is a good idea that way the metal parts don't try and seize together but in all purposes I've never seen it written anywhere.

Not going to hurt anything and if it was recommended it would state to do that in the owners manual.

Spider gears and axles are always turning whether in 2wd or 4wd, so there is always fluid churning. Nothing is going to seize . You could not do it for the life of the vehicle and it wouldn't matter, your choice

Wouldn't hurt to engage the CAD every once and a while. At the very least you could catch a malfunctioning CAD before you really need the 4x4 to get somewhere.

None of the second gens came from the factory with locking hubs. That's a custom conversion. (one that I wouldn't mind doing......)
