I have noticed when weighted down it does ride a lot nicer

As for the current situation where would be the best place to find the spiders so I can get the beast back on the road again. I was trying to find Yukon spiders or anything at this point but I'm having no luck finding what I need. Every set I find is for a open diff not for a trac-lok. Would I be better off just getting a rear off ebay thats pulled out of a truck already? Im tight on money and would rather not spend over 500 and I'm not having much luck.

Maybe a used one out of junkyards in your area? Finding one that has the parts you need might be fun though...... Dodge Dealer?

Something else you may consider is one of the 'lockers' that actually replace the spider gears. Might be cheaper than dealer parts in any event.

There's a u-pull-it 10 minutes from my work, which is where i went the last time and pulled that rear which i thought was for mine but seems to be the light duty rear for the 2500 like you said earlier, dodges are hard to find there and when they are there, they are stripped apart.

As for the locker i found this and it's cheaper then the rebuild kit for the dana 60 and it comes with a koozie! Would this be a more reasonable purchase then a rebuild kit? i would imagine it would take half the time to install

Or would this be a better option?

That's what i was thinking too, it also seems like it would be an easier install then the other one....

And the koozie will be much use to keep my cola nice and cool!

I appreciate the help it was much needed!! And will have to order this once I get home!

Default Unfortunately might not be a light 2500 rear end

You were saying the rearendou got from upull seemed rather light for a 2500.? It was probably a 1500 rear end . Worthless p.o.s.'s are trading parts off 1500s and swapping them to 2500s unsuspecting people. I know my now ex gf , I moved her and 30yr old son and his gf into mm y house I fed and housed them 2 years and what did I get out of it ... a ultra light dodge 2500 where it used to be a real bada$$ truck. I had to put air in my air bags so I would stop bottoming out.. all I had in the bed was a washer and dryer! Yea most all parts are interchangeable. My truck has 35s and 2.5" leveling kit... my tires are almost a constant rub, nut good thing about it now... now it fits in the garage.. used to be too tall. His name is Josh Nicole, spokane Washington. Pos.

1500 rears are 5 lug. 2500 rears are 8 lug. There is no way you can't notice that.....

my appologise, the rear end was just the inards, everytime i think about it my skin flushes, my eyes turn red, everything hazes over and i dont finish sentences it pisses me off that bad. I felt like a idiot because others would say no nothing is interchangable like that. Well from this forum or another a article about a poor mans lift.. where you take the springs from a 2500 with a cummin s and put them , along with the shocks and you will get a instant 3.5 inches of lift. His truck has 33's on it and theres at least 10 to 12 inches between the tire and the fender. .. so i wanted to know that i justvwasnt crazy and i searched for anything i could find to be 100 % proof. A spring company brochure stated that 1500s have 3/4" springs and 2500s have 7/8" springs so aftr calipers and measurenents they were indeed 1500 springs.. so im stil looking for proof because at the time the his mom still lived with me .. he didnt do to the fact that the proof i had was plenty enough for me.. still is. But one day a mutual freind ( thats a shi7 starter and dont care if secrets were actually not to be told .. haha.. just because of tjat hed call the other no matter who it was .) Anyway he called me and asked if i had a 1997 steering box. Of coursr this upset me i asked him wat?. He said yea josh said you have a 1500 parts truck so mine is making a god awfull sound .. well i only have one truck. ... it is a 2500 or used to be. Theres also a part that broke on it .. the steering assist. Heres a picture of a cross member what would you have to say after inspection of picture knowing what im saying.

call me crazy but thats not factory work. Who knows maybe i just have too much faith in dodge to not mess up the spacing or aligbment of the placement of the cross member. Oh yea that i mentoned is 1 theres more .. in the picture

1500 springs are 2.5 inches wide. 2500/3500 springs are 3" wide. They don't interchange well, as the spring pads on the axles are different sizes as well. They are different thinknesses based on vehicle weight rating/number of leaves.....

The bracket pictured there looks to be for the skidplate?? If so, then yep, that is stock.
