Marble like sounds coming from transmission
For quite some time now my truck has had this sound that sounds like marbles bouncing around the bell housing or inside the tranny, This is in my 01 2500 with the nv4500 its a 5.9 magnum, I read on the plenum thread that there seems to be a similar sound under heavy throttle, but I get this sound all the time, idling, light throttle, heavy throttle. The only time it doesn't make the sound is when the clutch is in. Which lead me to believe the throw out bearing is shot because the clutch has been engaging and disengaging hard, real jerky sometimes, and its hard to find where it grabs. At this point I'm just checking what I think it is so I'm not spending money where it doesn't need to be spent
Thanks! That's what I originally thought just wanted to check, I had plans of replacing the clutch and bearing all at once.. just 1 more question...Now that I have the locker in the truck when I make a sharp turn like turning into a parking spot, drive through or turning onto a side street it jerks the whole truck real bad and the only way to avoid it is to stay in the throttle the entire time through the turn, is it the throw out bearing causing that? or is that the locker?
Thought so... That spartan locker i found on ebay for the dana 60. Could the throw out bearing have something to do with it? It doesn't do it all the time just seems to be if i dont get in the throttle the right way it just wants to buck real hard
