so hey guys so i got into it today, decided to throw the whopping 40 bucks and get a new tps, through that in and drove it and it was still cutting out while accelerating and would continually die at a stop. so next i went and replaced the IAC which was fouled beyond belief and sure enough the dying on idle subsided at least i thought. While i was in there i cleaned the throttle body and the insert for IAC and cleaned where i could. looked down the throttle and she was bone dry so plenum is good. Anyway so made it most of the way home wthout too much trouble except it surged going up my steep driveway pretty bad and it died in my driveway. Anyway went to turn it back on and no start and it wouldnt turn over. So i decided to listen and hmm no fuel pump priming and by the way the fuel pump is a year old. So i decided to pull the relay and put it back and she was priming again, started her up and parked it right. So i guess my question is my relay ****ting on me as im driving cause my fuel pump to cut out intermittently, seems that would give a similar symptom of a failing tps. So i imagine replacing this relay might help?
Swap the fuel pump relay with the horn relay, see if your problems go away.
I have had problems with aftermarket IAC motors.... they simply do not react fast enough, and allow the motor to stall at stops. Replace with OEM unit, and problem went away.
makes me think that i rolled off that curb just right to where the relay came loose. the new IAC i put in made the truck actually cold idle where it never did that before. So just put the horn relay in the fuel pump and vise versa. Weird that still works but ill give it a go, if not ill throw a new relay in.
so this is really kind of funny, so earlier heyyou suggested switching the horn relay with the fuel pump relay, which is odd cause on my lid thats two different size fuses. long story short, a few years ago, i picknpulled a new fuse cover from an early 2nd gen which had the same layout but different locations. So idk what the heck i was attempting to replace lol. So bought a new fuse and put it in, will see if my stalling subsided and the surging.
also this is what the crappy fuse looked like. wonder why its failing lol
