Never seen an issue. Weird. Hell my 01 has a 180 currently. Each truck is different though

Ain't that the truth... I have lost track of how often I have seen someone state that X part just does not work worth spit on their truck, yet someone else has had one installed for years without a problem. I have no idea how many variations in programming for the PCM are out there......

Have to remember, some of us owned these trucks since the 90s (me 01) back when they were EVERYWHERE. So the forums in the mid-00s were chock full of "mods" and performance questions. I recall lots of issues with tuners/pinging/and 180 stats from 99-01. (I've had pinging since I bought it.) There was some software change in 2000 that would throw a code if the engine did not reach operation temp in a certain amount of time. Many owners complained about it. But my 99 has been under 160 for a long time and never thrown a code. These topics could be in the archive here but too lazy to search. If your truck is working with a 180 stat, then cool.

Thank you for all your responses. I ended up finding a very good deal on a 2003 Ford F250.
