96 dodge ram 2500, I had my transmission rebuilt probably 10 years ago, the truck is not driven much but lately I drive 50 miles and on return home the tranny wants to slip and if I slow down a bit it will seem to engage, any suggestions?

It's not TCC engaging/disengaging by any chance? Tach bounces about 200 RPM or so?

 

No, like I said it can drive to another town 50 miles or more but when I shut it down to go back home it just seems to tach out after I increase speed but then it's like it engages and i'm good unless I have to slow down or stop.

 

I suspect the governor pressure sensor, or solenoid isn't liking the heat soak, and is spazzing out. What parts did you get? Just stock replacements? Any idea what brand they were?

 

No, not sure, I will try and find paperwork. Is pressure sensor internal?
