Default 360 magnum 5 speed swap

Hey guys been a long time since I've been on here! Well, next weekend I'll be swapping in a 360 magnum from a 99 into my 2001 dodge. Yes, i have the nv 3500 because right now I'm running a tired 318, so I know I'm taking a chance but I won't beat on it, to bad haha. I did the Hughes plenum plate, shaved down the throttle body, got new shorty headers and a new 360 flywheel with a 12 inch clutch. Couple questions. I bought a pilot bearing but I heard that there's a sleeve too, which I don't have. Also the crank sensor is back there, is it true that I have to buy a crank sensor for a 360 magnum with a manual trans? If anyone has done this swap don't be afraid to give me some pointers haha I'm pretty excited to tear into it tho!

I don't think you have to get a new crank sensor since you already have the manual. Going from auto to manual you do as the auto crank sits down further and would get destroyed by the flywheel.

You Do need a pilot bearing sleeve. It goes into th flywheel. Or crank snout. I can't remember. You can probably just knock the one out of your old flywheel and put it in the 360. I would imagine they are the same. Dunno tho.

Remove the crank sensor till after you install the trans, They can get bent/pinched wire etc.. in the process.

O ok cool thanks. It will be easier once I get the old motor out and have them both next to each other. I'm gonna be running the new 360 off of the old 318 computer, hope that is ok..

Will run a bit lean in open loop.... which isn't really a good thing. Tuner, or correct PCM would be a better idea. (neither of which are precisely inexpensive.....)

Contact who you got it from, and see how much they want for 360/5 spd tunes.

Good idea. I'll be talking to hemi fever. I'm having a hard time finding a pilot bearing sleeve and knowing for sure how it goes. I'll find out when the 318 is out I guess ha
