Our shop truck was rhino-lined about 15 years ago, it is still in perfect condition, even after all the years of use and abuse. Its all about the prep work. If you do crappy prep, you get a crappy job.
Even with proper prep, I've seen RhinoLiner fail. Now whether it just wasn't laid heavy enough or not I can't be sure but I've seen too much failure.
Hey guys reviving this thread a bit, originally i was gonna raptor line my rocker panels but i held off for now. Over the last 2 years, Ive been battling cab leaks and i think I've finally fixed it. My carpet however took a moldy turn for the worse. i decided to go ahead and gut the cab and forever kill off any worries of a leak ever again. Wanted to share it with you guys, in case any of you have ever thought to do the same. Well i did it! here it is. Total job time was about 4-5 days, + - 10 hours just working when i had free time and a spare truck haha.
Removing the passenger seat was a pain, the track broke years ago and getting to the rear fasteners was a two man job. i already had the middle seat deleted a year ago.
carpet came off without to much fuss. had to remove rear seat to get to bolts holding down the back part of the carpet. for an almost 19 year old truck, it looked pretty clean under it all.
after much sanding and shop vaccing, i roughed up all the metal a bit and prepped the cab for the coats. i made sure i taped off all the original bolts as well.
this is my crappy rear cover job but it worked enough.
this is the 1st coat of raptor liner. took about 20 minutes to do with my air gun. I let it dry for a bit over an hour and came back for the next coat.
2nd coat
3rd coat
done
my old seats were jacked so i ended up getting a new pair of seats out of a few late 2nd gen dodges. mounting bolts matched in the back but i had to drill new holes in the chair mounts. overall im impressed with the outcome. no more worries about leaks and way more comfier seats
i put 3 pretty thick coats and decided to leave the foam padding near the firewall on both passenger and driver side. dont really get much outside noise in the cab, i just hear my exhaust mainly
