Going to pick up an nv300 with the pedal cluster and shifter maybe some other parts, just wondering what crank position sensor to use. One from a 2500 5.9 with the nv4500? Going to use all new hydraulics, flywheel, and clutch. New to the forums, any advice on the swap would be much appreciated.

Keep in mind, the NV3500 NEVER came behind the 5.9. (and with good reason.) So, drive it gently.
I think the manual trans crank sensors are the same for the 5.2, and 5.9.... So, shouldn't matter.
Welcome to DF! I do believe there are a couple threads detailing this particular swap.

The 3500 is a underrated trans. It's rated for at least 300 hp. It should be completely fine behind a stock 5.9 magnum.
It has better gear ratios for daily driving, 4500 has a rather deep first gear.
My thread is around here somewhere. Seems like you have everything lined up.
You will need a pilot bearing SLEEVE It presses into the crankshaft and then you press the pilot bearing into that sleeve.
You can shim the auto crank with a washer or two and it will work fine.
My thread should be floating around here somewhere

Thanks guys, I have a pretty steep cam in my motor, headers and exhaust but no tune, I've decided not to waste my money on the computer I have an LA 360 I'm gonna rebuild and do away with the fuel injection. I was wondering about the crank sleeve, just did an auto to manual swap on my buddies 93 ford and it was the same deal. Everyone seems to think these swaps are much harder than they should be. Glad I found this forum though I got some good info before wasting my cash.

Doing a carb swap on a 96 won't be that bad, especially since you are dumping the auto trans. Tuning a carb is certainly cheaper/easier than getting your FI motor custom tuned.
I would love to have the capability to do it myself, but, standalone systems are hideously expensive.....
I would love to have the capability to do it myself, but, standalone systems are hideously expensive.....Yeah that's why I decided to go that route, because with an sct tuner anytime I changed something or did more to upgrade I would be paying hemifever another 150 or so to re tune. Plus I would need an air/ fuel meter. I've been wanting to swap out the auto since the first time it burnt out on me. Sad part is its a jasper towing trans and still having problems. The gear clutches seem to be fine but the tcc is slipping burning the fluid which will eventually cause the other clutches to go bad.
Any Info on the fifth gear nut on the nv3500s I know the 4500s have a problem with it
